The Academy of Everything is Possible co-produced this project on the Day of the Dead with the Douglas Hyde gallery.
To understand the fear of death is to understand a great fear, and this projects examine how the Mexican deal with this fear by celebration, on the first of November every year.
The day of the dead in Mexico sees one of the greatest celebrations on earth for death and life. Offerings are are made to the deceased and placed on the altar, which includes elements of nature's forces, earth, fire, wind and water. These offerings resonate with the love of life.
On this day the bakeries and houses are decorated with skeletons and poems dedicated to the dead.
